Rice Teacher of the Year!
Congratulations to Rice Elementary Teacher of the Year!Jennifer Thrasher
Music Teacher
Mrs. Thrasher earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in December, 1993. She has previously taught elementary music in Louisiana, North Dakota and Texas. She is completing her third year at Rice Elementary. Mrs. Thrasher was awarded a national certificate of Advanced Kodály Methodology, endorsed by the Organization of American Kodály Educators, from the University of North Texas in 1998. More recently Mrs. Thrasher has completed a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from North Dakota State University in May of 2010. Thrasher also has lead several professional development workshops and for music educators in Texas, North Dakota and Minnesota.
